Haro Bikes, one of the leading names in the BMX bicycle manufacturing industry, is well known to be the brain child of Bob Haro.

With a flair for designs from childhood, Bob Haro started designing number plates for BMX bikes right from his bedroom in 1976. Because of their superb and stylish design, Haro number plates soon became the status symbol of the American sports world. But this was not enough to satisfy the designing appetite of Bob. While his business was growing rapidly, Bob used to spend his free time in experimenting with his all time passion, the BMX bike. And the outcome was the Original Haro Freestyler. Bob travelled in and around the country and exhibited the unique riding tricks developed by him to the public through small road shows. It was a great success which earned him the title as the founding father of freestyle. What’ s even more interesting, is that the tricks showed by Bob, started started to become recognised as a sport form. They were even introduced as a mainstream sport by ESPN in the midninties.

The first popular BMX bikes produced by Haro were the Master and Sport. The Haro bikes mostly come in four categories, namely freestyle, racing, park and street. The company offers a 24-inch BMX for taller adults and 20-inch for those who are shorter. They have also released a junior range for kids with same traditional design but smaller price.

You can get most of the Haro bikes within $250 to $600 range. But the professional racer bikes are priced a little more.

Becaused of it’ s television exposure through ESPN’ s X-Games and NBC’ s Gravity Games, Haro Bikes have become a top brand in the sports industy. Since the X- Games started in 1996, Haro bike sponsored riders have won more medals than any other brand.

Recently Haro Bike has taken a bold step by signining with former UCI World Champion Mike King and current champion of UCI World Michael Rasmussen of Denmark. The stunt Rider Mike Steidley, sponsored by Haro Bike won the 2010 North American Trial series(NATS).
