Giant Bikes are manufactured by a Taiwanese bicycle manufacturing firm, Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd. which
is said to be one of the largest of bicycle manufacturers in the world. The company was originally established in
the year 1972 in Taichung County’s Tachia township in Taiwan as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
for bicycle manufacturers, like the German based Schwinn Bicycle Company, to be sold exclusively their brand
names.
In 1986, Giant Bikes made an attempt to establish it’s own brand name and started to sell the products in
the period’s rapidly expanding $200 or above price range markets under the new presidency of Bill Austin.
This caused the company to expand their product sales to more then fifty major countries spread across the
continents with the help of 10,000 or more retailers. This enormous expansion was responsible for surpassing
five million bicycle sales worldwide and reachin USD$820 million in global revenues. The company has housed
it’s manufacturing facilities Taiwan, China and Netherlands to help the production and distribution to the western
countries.
Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd. has achieved many global reputations across the timeline, since the time it was
established. Year after year, the company started to grown in a fast phase and started to establish in different
countries. The company has also hold the reputation of manufacturing 2,840,000 and 4,730,000 in 1998 and
2002 respectively, which is known to be the largest number of production for those years and was named the
largest quality bicycle manufacturer in work in 2007.
Today, being one of the world’s largest bicycle manufacturer in the world, Giant Manufacturing Co. Ltd. is
producing millions of bicycles that are distributed under it’s own brand with more than the categories, exceeding
hundreds of quality bicycles separately for women, men and youth for on-road off-road competitions and
everyday commuting, regardless of the means of usage.
